nice find, but the John Deeres, Homelite, and ryobi trimmers sold at Home Depot and Lowes are all made by MTD and teh same exact thing with a diffrent name on it
@th19940305 I like them in general, but I have found that Stihl and Echo are much more reliable.
@MultiKhaz Yea i dont like the MTD ones that muh they brake real easy but stihl and echo are alot better cause there comercial stuff that cost at least 3x as muc but there worth it
what brand carb is this, i have the same trimmer and i need a replacement carb kit. thanks
@twoteensgarage sorry for the late reply, but go to ebay and type this number 120900026. You can buy a new carb for about 45$, petty good deal. You could also get the kit on ebay, the carb is a Zama C1U-H46, your may vary so check it before you order, it usually has the nae stamped on it.
Thanks for the video. i have the same trimmer just bought, i replaced the hoses for gas but i forgot where they go. but from the video i can figure it out. This video helped me alot after 2 0r 3 hours trying to figure out where the cables went. as of right now, it is not starting, i may need a fuel tank as well. never had done any type of repairing but I am enjoying it
what is the function ot the shorter fuel hose that does not have a filter
@juantimbale I am glad that you are enjoying the work. The short line that goes into the tank is a vent line. Basically the primer bulb sucks up gas from the fuel filter line, the longer one, and excess gas and air gets pumped back into the tank thru the shorter line. Here is a tip on those fuel lines. The longer filter line attaches to the lower carb nozzle and the shorter vent line attaches to the upper carb nozzle, closer to the primer bulb. Let me knew if you need a video.
@MultiKhaz ok, i had the hoses wrong. but now i have another issue, the primer bulb cracked probably from being in the sun, so i can’t prime pump, I may also have a gas leak, i thought i may be the tank itself but i cant tell until i clean it nicely. I paid $100 for it, i am giving it a chance to keep it for now if i can figure all these issues out. It is my first weedwacker. thanks and I will also be able to send you videos of my troubles .
how to u string it big lad
the mixture for this trimmer is 32:1 mine was unused for a few years so i forgot the mixture so i called the customer service and they told me it was 32:1
Nice work. I have a similar unit, C1200, but the spark plug is at the rear. I recently took the trimmer out to use and the gas lines needed replacing. They were all but crumbling at about 6 years old. You can still get replacement parts through a number of distributors and online garden shops. I replaced all the gas lines and filer for $21.00 @Gardner, Inc. The gas tank is listed as not available everywhere I looked, but I didn’t need a new one. This is a nice trimmer.
how many cc’s is it?
